Designed for use as a non-extraction device for anti-personnel mines that do not have their own similar device. In addition, the mine can be used as a booby-trap mine with unloading action.
When attempting to remove an anti-personnel mine from its installation site, the ML-7 mine explodes, hitting the enemy. This also results in detonation or destruction of the anti-personnel mine. When used as a booby-trap, the ML-7 is placed on the ground so that it is not visible (for example, in an open hole), and an object is placed on it that will certainly arouse the enemy's interest and encourage him to pick it up or use it (weapons, household items, etc.). In this case, the personnel are killed by the force of the explosion of the ML-7 mine itself.
Not equipped.
When used as a device for preventing the extraction of anti-personnel mines, the ML-7 mine is installed under the bottom of anti-personnel pressure mines of the PMN, PMN-2, PMN-3, PMN-4, PMD-6M type, or similar. The mine can be installed only manually on the surface or in the ground, snow. The mine is not intended for use underwater.
The mine is non-retractable and non-disarmable, its return to a safe position is impossible. Mine detection: metal detectors - distance up to 40 mm, radio frequency detectors - up to 50 mm, odorant detectors - 250-400 mm.
The color is green, gray-blue, olive, sandy yellow, yellowish-gray. The marking is extruded on the mine cover and is standard (mine code, manufacturer code, batch number and year of manufacture. Some batches of mines do not have markings.
