The M6 anti-tank mine was developed in the United States in the first half of the 1940s. It is a pressure-action mine and is designed to disable and destroy enemy wheeled and tracked vehicles. After successful testing, it was adopted by the US Army and its production began. The M6 mine was actively used during the Korean War in 1950-1953, but was withdrawn from service in the late 1960s.
