TM-56
The TM-56 anti-tank mine was developed in the mid-1950s by Soviet designers. After general testing in 1956, this mine was adopted for service to replace the TM-46 mine, and its serial production began.
Designed to disable enemy tracked and wheeled vehicles.
Enemy vehicles are destroyed by the destruction of their chassis when the mine charge explodes at the moment the wheel hits the upper part of the mine (not less than 1/3 of the surface area).
The mine can be installed in the non-extraction position with MUV-2, MUV-3, MUV-4 detonators with an MD-5M fuse.
The mine is not equipped with a self-destruct device.
The mine can be placed in the ground, in the snow, or under water, but only manually.
The mine cannot be defused, it is better to detonate it remotely.
Mine color Same as TM-46. Mine marking The mine marking is applied in black letters on the mine body and bottom and contains: manufacturer's factory code and batch number. The marking "TM-56" and the year of manufacture are indicated on the bottom of the case by embossed stamping.
