The SM signal mine is designed to emit a sound and light signal when an enemy soldier catches on a wire extension, involuntarily pulls out the detonator's combat check, thereby giving away his location.
The mine body is made of steel. The mine is installed manually in the ground or on the ground, tied to a stake driven into the ground or fixed to local objects.
When the mine is triggered, the sound block's checkers burn, accompanied by a loud, sharp whistle that can be heard at a distance of up to 500 meters. After that, stars fly out of the mine, illuminating the area within a radius of up to 50-70 meters.
It does not have any non-extraction or non-disarmament elements, however, the high sensitivity of the detonator makes the mine impossible to neutralize.
The mine is not equipped with a self-destruct device.

Color: Green, protective. The lower end is painted in the color of the stars installed in the mine: white, green, red. Marking: Applied with black paint on the side surface and contains: − SM – mine code; − 320-1-82 – manufacturer’s code – batch number – year of manufacture.
