This is the latest Russian development from 2008. In 2018, during tests, a minefield about 3 km long was prepared from 200 Boomerang models in one hour using the Dozhd helicopter system.
The mine is designed to protect military and civilian facilities from helicopter attacks, to protect areas of the sea coast where helicopter landings are possible, to protect minefields from helicopter demining, in parallel with anti-tank mines, to block the runways of enemy airfields, to block places where reserve airfields can be deployed, and to psychologically influence the helicopter pilot in order to force him to fly at high altitudes.
Aircraft are destroyed by 12 SBE UYA. After the air target is above the mine, an acoustic sensor or an optical detonator of the "388M" type gives a command to detonate and all charges are simultaneously triggered, which at an altitude of up to 100 meters pierce a 12-mm steel sheet. The command to detonate is issued if the received data matches the "sound portrait" of the alleged enemy aircraft. The built-in radar is responsible for determining the moment of mine detonation. The mine is also equipped with a "friend-or-foe" recognition system. The mine is fully autonomous.
