This is an Italian VS-50 high-explosive anti-personnel mine, manufactured in Iran under the name YM-IB. These mines, purchased by the Syrian Ministry of Defense, began to be delivered to the DPR and LPR via the Russian Federation in November 2017.

The mine is made of impact-resistant plastic, has a red safety stopper on the side of the body, and the detonator is part of its design.

There are no non-extraction elements, but the design features exclude the reverse translation of the mine from the combat to the safe position.
The mine is designed for mechanized installation on the ground surface, including from helicopters, but can be installed manually both on the ground surface and in the ground under a camouflage layer up to 3 cm thick.
The almost complete absence of metal parts completely eliminates the detection of the mine by induction metal detectors, and the careful sealing of the mine dramatically reduces the smell of explosives emanating from the mine, which also complicates the detection of the mine by dogs. The high sensitivity of the target sensor makes the search for these mines with probes impossible The mine is very resistant to explosive demining agents, including elongated demining charges of the Soviet UZ type and charges containing volumetric detonating mixtures. The explosion resistance of the YM-IB to the detonation of a neighboring mine of the same type is more than 10 m. The design features exclude the reverse translation of the mine from the combat to the safe position.
Colors are khaki, brown, sand, green. The marking is applied with white paint on the pressure cap and contains: − YM-IВ – mine code (marking is often erased).
