It consists of a percussion mechanism and the fuse itself. 1) The percussion mechanism serves to ignite the primer-igniter of the fuse. It consists of a percussion mechanism tube, a connecting sleeve, a guide washer, a mainspring, a striker, a striker washer, a trigger lever and a safety catch with a ring. The percussion mechanism tube is the basis for assembling all parts of the fuse. The connecting sleeve is designed to connect the fuse to the grenade body. It is worn on the lower part of the percussion mechanism tube. The guide washer is a stop for the upper end of the mainspring and guides the movement of the striker. It is fixed in the upper part of the percussion mechanism tube. The mainspring is designed to provide the striker with the energy necessary to pierce the primer-igniter. It is worn on the striker and its upper end rests on the guide washer, and its lower end rests on the striker washer. The striker serves to pierce and ignite the primer-igniter. It is located in the middle of the percussion mechanism tube. The striker washer is worn on the lower end of the striker and is a stop for the lower end of the main spring. The trigger lever is designed to hold the striker in the cocked position (when the main spring is compressed). On the percussion mechanism tube, the trigger lever is held by a safety catch. The safety catch passes through the holes in the trigger lever lugs and the walls of the percussion mechanism tube. It has a ring for convenient extraction. 2) The fuse is designed to detonate the explosive charge of the grenade. It consists of a retarder sleeve, a primer-igniter, a retarder and a detonator capsule. The moderator sleeve in the upper part has a thread for connection with the percussion mechanism tube and a socket for the primer-igniter. Inside the sleeve there is a channel for the moderator, and on the outside there is a groove for connection with the detonator sleeve. The primer-igniter is designed to ignite the moderator. The moderator transmits the flame from the primer-igniter to the detonator. It consists of a pressed low-gas composition. The primer-detonator is designed to detonate the explosive charge of a grenade. It is placed in a sleeve that is fixed to the lower part of the moderator sleeve.
It can also be used to set up flares. Various manipulations can be performed on the fuse, including removing the pyrotechnic moderator to eliminate the delay time. Modifications are possible to change the principle of operation.
