Designed to disable tracked and wheeled enemy vehicles. Damage to vehicles is caused by damage to their chassis when the mine charge explodes when the wheel (roller) hits the mine detonator. The photo shows the BTR-80 after the TM-62P mine detonator. The explosion occurred under the right front wheel. The tire of the wheel was completely destroyed, the wheel reducer, wheel suspension, and the shelf above the wheel were damaged. The vehicle left the site of the explosion on its own (the photo was taken 10 km from the site of the explosion). The crew received light and moderate concussions, two soldiers who were outside on the armor died. The restoration of the vehicle in the regiment's repair company took one day
The TM-62P mine is not detected by any type of metal detector, it is difficult to detect by radio frequency mine detectors, but it is well detected by probes and search dogs.
