Designed to disable enemy tracked and wheeled vehicles.
Enemy vehicles are destroyed by piercing the bottom of the vehicle with a cumulative jet when the mine charge explodes at the moment the target sensor tilts. Tilting the target sensor when the tank is moving slowly enough (10-15 km/h) often does not trigger the detonator, but turns the mine into a position close to horizontal. Especially in soft soils. During a flood, the mine floats up and lies on its side. When a mine explodes under a wheel or caterpillar, the track and roller (wheel) are destroyed; when it explodes under the bottom, splashes of molten armor from the cumulative jet hit the crew and internal equipment of the tank, which can lead to a fire in the tank and the explosion of the BC located on the bottom. As a rule, the tank is completely disabled and cannot be restored.
There is no slot for non-removable elements.
The mine is not equipped with a self-destruct device.
The mine can only be placed in the ground (snow) manually. Installation or deployment by mechanized means is not provided.
The color is usually dark green or olive green. Individual batches may be painted olive yellow or yellow gray. The marking is applied with black letters to the upper conical part of the body and contains: − TMK-2 - mine code (may be absent); − 34-12-72 - manufacturer's code - batch number - year of manufacture (the numbers may be different); − T - equipment code, based on table 2.3.1.
