Designed to incapacitate enemy personnel. The damage to a person is caused by the destruction of the lower part of the leg (foot) when the mine charge is detonated at the moment of stepping on the mine's pressure cap. As a rule, when a mine is detonated, the foot of the foot with which the soldier stepped on the mine is completely torn off, and depending on the distance of the second leg from the explosion site, it can also be significantly damaged or not be damaged at all. In addition, the shock wave of a sufficiently large explosive charge causes a person to lose consciousness, the high temperature of the explosive gases can cause significant burns to the lower extremities. Death can occur from pain shock or blood loss if medical care is not provided in a timely manner.

The mine consists of a wooden body, a 200-gram TNT bomb, a MUV series detonator, and an MD-2 fuse.

There are no non-extraction and neutralization elements, but the very high sensitivity of the MUV series detonator makes neutralization of the mine very dangerous. In addition, a surprise mine can be installed under the mine, which makes neutralization of the mine impossible.

The mine is not equipped with a self-destruct device.

The mine can be placed on the ground, in the ground, in the snow, or manually.

The mine is painted dark green, brown or only covered with a layer of drying oil. Marking is applied to the top cover in large numbers: manufacturer's number, batch number and year of manufacture; marking is often absent.
