The mine is in service in France and England. Since 1999, 3,000 mine tubes (15,000 anti-tank mines) have been manufactured. Some of the products were supplied to units of the French army using tracked engineering vehicles EBG, the other part to units using minelayers Minotaurr AC mle F1, which are the standard minelayers of the French army. The Minotaurr system is now also installed on the British Stormer armored personnel carrier and the light wheeled French ASMAT 6x6 vehicle. The Minotaurr minelaying system was first used during the "Gulf War" in 1991 by British troops.
Structurally, it is a plastic cylindrical (somewhat barrel-shaped) case, to which two metal rings with elastic legs are riveted from the outside. The purpose of the legs is to give the mine the correct position after it falls to the ground. Inside the mine are an explosive charge with two cumulative recesses opposite both ends of the case, a device for bringing the mine into combat position, a self-destruction device, and an electronic magnetic fuse with a built-in power battery. The mine case is sealed and non-detachable. Through the side wall of the mine, control wires for programming the mine's combat time are brought out. These wires are connected in an electrical circuit and brought out to the end of the tube. All mines in the tube can be programmed only for the same combat time. On the opposite side of the mine wall, a fitting for the pyrotechnic system for bringing the mine into combat position with a spring-loaded pusher is brought out. The mine is triggered by the magnetic field of the enemy vehicle and pierces the bottom with a cumulative jet. The mine is not sensitive to the amount of metal carried by the infantryman, and is therefore safe for personnel.
To lay mines, the F1 minelayer (Minotaurr AC mle F1) or the EBG tracked armored personnel carrier (lEngin Blinde du Genie (EBG)) is used.
Disarming a mine in a combat position is impossible, since there is no access to the explosive device. The mine is self-destructed using a built-in electronic timer after 1–96 hours, depending on the preliminary settings made by the mine-defence equipment before the start of mining. The discreteness of the preliminary settings is 1 hour. If the mine, after being thrown out of the tube, lies on its side, and not on one of the planes, then it is not brought into combat position and after the end of the combat time it is self-neutralized.
Mine color: matte dull green and dull brown. On both ends of the body are convex semicircular letters MI AC DISP F1, indicating the mine type. Below are embossed letters and numbers indicating the batch number, manufacturer and year of manufacture. For example, LOT 2-ASS-99.
