M19

The M19 mine is an American anti-tank pressure mine. After successful testing in the mid-1950s, the mine was adopted by the US Army.

It is designed to disable enemy tracked and wheeled vehicles. Enemy vehicles are damaged by destroying their undercarriage during the explosion of the mine charge at the moment the wheel (track) hits the mine's pressure cap.

Not equipped

The mine is placed manually on the ground, in the soil, and even in the snow.

The safety of handling the mine is ensured by the rotary handle located on the upper plane of the detonator pressure plate, which can have two positions - S (safe) and A (combat). Due to the fact that its body is made of plastic, the mine is poorly detected by metal detectors.
